Reports from northern provinces indicate that Taliban authorities have issued orders to establish a special 1,000-person unit to secure the region and counter potential threats.

According to these reports, urgent directives related to this matter have been conveyed to the governor of Balkh.

Yousuf Wafa, the governor, held a meeting in Aybak, Samangan, with security officials from northern and northeastern provinces and the commander of the 209 Al-Fatah Corps to assess and review the security situation in the region.

During the meeting, priorities included the construction of a large religious school for returning refugees, strengthening security across zones, enhancing cooperation between the public and security institutions, and implementing urgent measures to secure border areas.

These actions come as anti-Taliban armed groups frequently carry out guerrilla attacks against Taliban positions in the north.

Security sources note that dissatisfaction and anti-Taliban sentiments are higher in the north compared to the south, prompting the Taliban to focus on enhancing their security presence in these areas.
