Taliban Court Chief in Badakhshan Accused of Beating Female Protesters.

Credible local sources in Badakhshan province report that Mawlawi Nematullah Ahmadi, head of the urban court in Fayzabad, severely assaulted a woman and her daughter after they protested a court ruling. According to these sources, the incident occurred inside the courthouse, and military equipment was allegedly used in the beating.

The woman, identified as Farida, had reportedly sought a divorce after suffering domestic violence. However, the Taliban judge allegedly ignored the abuse claims and instead ordered her to continue living with her husband. When the woman and her daughter objected to the ruling, the head of the court allegedly responded with violence.

The incident occurred on Saturday in Fayzabad, and the health condition of both the mother and daughter has been reported as concerning. Human rights organizations have repeatedly warned about rising violence, the lack of fair judicial processes, and widespread violations of women’s rights within the Taliban’s judicial system.
