Taliban dismiss dozens of women from Kabul kindergartens

The Taliban’s Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has dismissed dozens of female teachers and employees from Kabul kindergartens.

Local sources said the move included all women and the number of those dismissed was likely to be more than 92.

The decision came despite the fact that employees have not received their salaries for the past three months and the Taliban announced in a letter that those dismissed were no longer entitled to receive their salaries.

Sources also reported that the Taliban are trying to replace these women with people close to them. The dismissal of women from government institutions is seen as part of the Taliban’s broader policies against women’s employment.
