Taliban Minister for the Promotion of Virtue Expresses Fear of Early Collapse of Their Government.
Mohammad Khalid Hanafi, the Taliban Minister for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, in a recent speech, in a warning tone, spoke of threats which, according to him, are targeting the existence of the group’s rule;
statements that observers consider a reflection of concern about the stability and continuity of the Taliban government.
He claimed that certain “circles and neighboring countries” are attempting to advance external projects aimed at weakening this rule, but stressed that these efforts will not succeed.
At the same time, Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, the Taliban Minister of Defense, had previously claimed that Pakistan is seeking to equip and support the group’s opponents.
According to him, contacts have been established between some Pakistani officials and Taliban opponents.
These claims are made at a time when Afghanistan’s security and political environment remains uncertain and tense, and independent sources have not provided clear confirmation of these allegations.
Hanafi, in another part of his speech in Laghman province, emphasized the need for internal cohesion and obedience to the leadership of Hibatullah Akhundzada, and called for general unity to strengthen Taliban rule.
He also, referring to the wartime history of the people of this province, stressed continued support for the group, and in conclusion described observing hijab and confronting “immorality” as fundamental responsibilities of an Islamic society.
