Reliable sources have confirmed that Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud, the leader of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has been killed in an airstrike in Kabul city.

According to security sources, the target of the attack was a Land Cruiser vehicle in the Abdul Haq intersection area and it is likely that the operation was carried out by a drone.

Witnesses at the scene said that drones continued to fly in the sky over Kabul after the explosion.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed the explosion on his X-rated account and wrote that “investigations are ongoing” and that there have been no reports of civilian casualties so far.

Meanwhile, residents of several districts of Kabul reported hearing two loud explosions.

According to some residents, the intensity of the explosions was so great that windows of houses were broken and severe shaking was felt.

Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud has led the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) since the death of Mullah Fazlullah in 2018. He was the fourth leader of the group.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the details or the perpetrators of the attack.
