The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has announced that for the first time since 2018, a delegation from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria has visited Afghanistan.
UNAMA said in a statement on Monday that during their visit, the members of the delegation met with representatives of national and international institutions and visited medical equipment storage facilities.
According to UNAMA, the Global Fund delegation, while expressing satisfaction with the multi-year partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Afghanistan, emphasized its continued commitment to supporting programs to combat communicable diseases.
The visit was conducted to assess progress, identify challenges and strengthen future cooperation in the field of health.
