The Taliban have evicted 66 Uzbek-majority professors from Faryab University

Local sources in Faryab province confirmed that the Taliban have dismissed 66 university professors in the province. It is said that 40 of these people are women.

According to available information, the Taliban have dismissed 15 Uzbek women from the Faculty of Education alone and kept Pashtun professors in their posts.

A number of the dismissed professors had long experience and high academic degrees.

Reports indicate that a few Uzbek professors remain in post, but the majority have been fired altogether.

The targeted dismissal of non-Pashtun employees in government offices, especially in the northern regions, is part of the Taliban’s ethnic and discriminatory policy.

These actions have drawn widespread domestic and international criticism in recent weeks.
