Three Taliban members killed or injured in Faryab attack.
The Afghanistan Freedom Front has claimed responsibility for a targeted attack in Faryab province on the night of Tuesday, December 16, 2025. According to the group’s statement, the operation was conducted against the Taliban’s highway battalion base adjacent to the Faryab provincial police headquarters at around 6:00 p.m.
The statement reported that two Taliban members were killed and one was injured during the attack. The Freedom Front emphasized that the operation was carried out with precision and that none of their own fighters were harmed.
Taliban officials in Faryab have not yet issued an official response. The incident comes amid ongoing insecurity and coordinated opposition attacks against Taliban forces in several provinces across Afghanistan.
