Trump: Not All Afghans Are to Blame, But the U.S. Has Faced Serious Challenges.
U.S. President Donald Trump, reacting to a recent attack by an Afghan national on members of the National Guard in Washington, stated that “not all Afghans are to blame,” but the United States has faced “serious problems” with Afghans.
He made the remarks in response to reporters’ questions about the security implications of the incident. Referring to the evacuation of Afghans during the chaotic U.S. withdrawal from Kabul, Trump said that “no proper screening was done” at the time, and individuals were placed on planes “without identification or control.” He added that among those evacuated, he believes “bad actors” were also present.
However, Trump emphasized that “many Afghans are legally present in the United States,” and this distinction should be recognized. He asserted that during the evacuation, “those who were physically stronger boarded the planes first,” which he said contributed to some of the current challenges.
