In a joint operation by Turkish and Pakistani security forces, Ozgur Altun, a senior commander of the ISIS terrorist group, was arrested on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border and transferred to Turkey.
According to reports, Altun was a Turkish citizen and played a key role in organizing the passage of ISIS members from Europe and Central Asia to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT) announced that this prominent ISIS figure, alias “Abu Yasir Al-Turki”, was in charge of the group’s media department in Turkey and is known as one of the highest-ranking ISIS executives in the field of media and support.
He was on Turkey’s most wanted list with an orange alert.
Turkish media reported that Altun had previously ordered attacks on some public gatherings and concerts in Turkey and Europe.
