The Counter-Narcotics Police of Badakhshan Provincial Police Headquarters have announced the arrest of two individuals on charges of drug trafficking in the province.
According to the ministry, more than 12 kilograms of opium were recovered from the detainees. The operation to arrest these individuals was carried out in one of the areas of the province.
The Ministry of Interior added that after conducting initial investigations, the suspects were handed over to the judicial and legal institutions for further investigation.
This comes as Taliban security officials have announced efforts to prevent drug trafficking in different regions of the country.
