Two Taliban fighters killed in Takhar; Freedom Front claims responsibility for attack.
The Afghan Freedom Front has announced that its forces attacked a Taliban checkpoint in Taloqan city, the capital of Takhar province, on Sunday night, September 7.
According to the front, two Taliban members were killed as a result of the attack.
The publication of this news and related images on social media once again shows the presence and operational capacity of the Taliban armed opposition in northern Afghanistan.
Local sources in Taloqan said that the intensity of the explosion caused by the attack was such that its sound was heard throughout the city and tense the security atmosphere.
While the Taliban always claim complete security control, the repetition of such attacks reveals the weakness of this group in providing urban security.
The Freedom Front has emphasized that the Taliban’s urban patrol units in Taloqan constantly harass residents and that these attacks are a response to the Taliban’s pressure on the people.
Despite these events, Taliban officials have remained silent as usual; a silence that, according to observers, further demonstrates the group’s inability to manage security challenges and confront armed resistance.
