A vehicle belonging to the Taliban Intelligence Department in Khogyani district of Nangarhar province has run over and killed two women.

According to local sources, the incident occurred on Saturday evening, July 27, in the Chamtali area of Khogyani district when a Hilux vehicle belonging to the Taliban Intelligence Department hit two women at high speed, killing both of them.

Sayed Tayyeb Hammad, spokesman for the Taliban’s Nangarhar police command, confirmed the incident and attributed it to the driver’s carelessness. According to him, the driver has been arrested and introduced to the relevant Taliban institutions.

However, local residents say that Taliban vehicles are mostly driving on the roads without license plates and in violation of driving rules, and such incidents are the result of the reckless traffic culture among the group’s forces.

There have been numerous reports of Taliban vehicles hitting civilians in the past, but in most cases, there has been no legal follow-up or transparent accountability for these violations.

Observers say lawlessness and impunity have paved the way for such tragedies to recur across the country.
