Local sources in Paktika province say that unidentified individuals killed two members of a family in the Yahya Khel district of the province last night.
The incident took place in the village of “Godlo” and the victims were a woman and a man. Sources have confirmed that four other family members were also seriously injured in the attack. The injured include two children, a woman and a man.
According to sources, the attackers targeted the victims using knives. The motive for the attack is still unclear and no individual or group has claimed responsibility for it.
Local Taliban officials have not yet reacted to the incident.
The incident occurred while the Taliban are talking about ensuring nationwide security in the country, but cases of violence and targeted killings continue in different parts of Afghanistan.
