Meanwhile, any critical thinking within Afghanistan is met with suppression, detention, and intimidation.
Widespread restrictions on women including deprivation of education, employment, and a life with dignity as well as the issuance of more than 150 restrictive decrees, illustrate policies at odds with human rights principles and Afghan societal demands, creating serious uncertainties for the country’s social and political future.
