Water and Agricultural Crisis in Chah-Ab; Residents Blame Gold Mining Companies.

Residents of Chah-Ab district report that gold mining operations have damaged water resources and caused severe harm to agriculture and the environment. Streams have dried up, and farmland is now uncultivable, putting the livelihoods of dozens of agriculture-dependent families at risk.

Locals claim that companies associated with Haji Bashir Noroozi and Faisal Khorasani have monopolized water resources without regard for the villagers’ needs. Those who have demanded access to water reportedly faced death threats from the companies’ armed guards, endangering the lives of many residents.

According to the residents, these companies, in collaboration with the Taliban, have seized control of vital water and food resources, making life in the district extremely difficult. Additionally, cooperation between local and southern companies, they say, has further worsened the economic and living conditions of the inhabitants.
