The Meteorological Department of the Taliban Ministry of Transport and Aviation has issued a new warning that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall accompanied by floods and dust storms in 20 provinces of the country tomorrow (Friday, 6th of June 2025).
According to this warning, the provinces of Badakhshan, Takhar, Nuristan, Kunar, Nangarhar, Laghman, Kabul, Maidan Wardak, Paktia, Kapisa, Panjshir, Parwan, Baghlan, Samangan, Balkh, Bamyan, Sar-e-Pul, Ghor, Faryab and Badghis, including Salang, are in the path of this unstable weather system.
The amount of rainfall in these areas is predicted to be between 15 and 35 mm and the possibility of flooding is high, especially in mountainous areas and along river routes.
At the same time, the department has also warned of strong winds accompanied by dust.
The speed of these winds in the northern, southern, eastern and central regions of the country – including the Salang Pass – is estimated to be between 50 and 90 kilometers per hour.
Local authorities and relief agencies have asked residents of these provinces to take precautions and avoid traveling on flooded and mountainous roads.
