PARWAN – Following the start of a widespread layoff process in Parwan province, local sources report the dismissal of 31 employees of the provincial government.

According to information made available to the media on Friday, 16th of Saur, these employees continued their duties until 11th of Saur; while according to the official letter, the effective date of the layoffs was set from the first of Ahar. This has caused these people to continue working for nearly 40 days without receiving salaries. Also, some sources claim that the actual date of the layoffs dates back to 17th of Hawt last year.

According to sources, Abdul Wahid, the manager of the farm water regulation in the fifth division of Shinwari district, suffered a stroke and died after receiving the news of the layoffs from the Department of Agriculture.

The laid-off employees say they are in a state of uncertainty and facing severe economic challenges. They emphasize that they have no alternative options to cover living expenses.

The process of cutting government employees in Parwan continues, and concerns about the economic and social consequences of this measure are growing.
