Jawzjan\u2019s \u201cTooti Maidan\u201d gas project officially launched.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Taliban\u2019s Ministry of Mines and Petroleum announced that the Uzbek company \u201cPrilcom\u201d has started practical work on the \u201cTooti Maidan\u201d gas exploration and extraction project in Jawzjan province.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ceremony was held on Sunday, September 14, in the presence of Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Taliban\u2019s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, and Ismatullah Irgashev, Uzbekistan\u2019s special representative for Afghanistan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Abdul Ghani Baradar said at the ceremony that the \u201cTooti Maidan\u201d project will largely meet Afghanistan\u2019s domestic gas needs and reduce its dependence on gas and electricity imports.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He also claimed that with the completion of the project, the ground will be prepared for Afghanistan\u2019s gas exports to neighboring countries, thereby strengthening the country\u2019s economy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the contract signed on October 7, 2024, the solar year, Prilcom is committed to exploring and extracting gas reserves for a period of ten years and will invest $100 million in the first year and about $1 billion in the project over the next ten years.<\/strong><\/p>\n
