The Taliban have said that they have formed \u201ccooperation committees\u201d in the center and provinces to implement the Law on Encouraging Virtue and Forbidding Vice.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The group\u2019s Ministry of Justice announced in a press release that the procedures for these committees are organized into 13 articles and an introduction and were signed by the Taliban leader.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to these procedures, the committees are required to explain the Law on Virtue to officials in ministries, local departments, and provincial assemblies so that government employees act in accordance with the Taliban\u2019s orders.<\/strong><\/p>\n

However, critics believe that the Taliban are actually using the Ministry of Virtue to carry out social repression, especially limiting women\u2019s freedoms.<\/strong><\/p>\n
