Taliban claim security, but failed to protect a woman’s life in court.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A woman was murdered in a public session of the Taliban\u2019s appeals court in Herat, an incident that once again exposed the Taliban\u2019s weakness in providing security and the valuelessness of women\u2019s lives in their system.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The woman was the wife of Abdul Rahman Moradi, a former member of the Herat Provincial Council, and the Taliban had brought her to court for trial.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to sources, Moradi\u2019s brother killed the woman in the same public session, while the Taliban were only onlookers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is despite the Taliban having previously said that Moradi had committed suicide; but her family blamed her husband for her death.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now, justice in the Taliban system has become a scene for family blood feuds instead of implementing the law.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This incident showed that in the eyes of the Taliban, women are not only deprived of basic rights, but are not even protected by the law.<\/strong><\/p>\n
