The Taliban have once again shown that they do not consider using religion as a tool to suppress people, even the sanctity of religious scholars and citizens’ homes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mohibullah, a religious scholar living in Sheltan district of Kunar province, said that Taliban intelligence forces insulted and harassed his family by raiding his house three days ago.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to him, the Taliban searched the women of the family without the presence of a female police officer and forced them to remove their hijab.<\/strong><\/p>\n

These women were kept in the sun for more than three hours and were even denied permission to pray.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Such treatment clearly contradicts Islamic values, but the Taliban are committing blatant violations of women’s rights in the name of religion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mohibullah added that he was not present at the house during the raid and that his complaint was not only not accepted, but was also not referred to any department.<\/strong><\/p>\n
