Moscow Format Meeting; Concerns Over Foreign Bases and Terrorist Presence in Afghanistan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Moscow hosted two important meetings on Afghanistan this week; including a quadrilateral meeting attended by Iran, Russia, China, and Pakistan, and a larger Moscow Format meeting with the participation of more than 10 regional countries and Taliban representatives.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In these meetings, regional countries once again opposed any establishment of foreign military bases on Afghan soil and emphasized respect for the country\u2019s sovereignty.<\/strong><\/p>\n

News sources say the main concern is the possible return of US forces to Bagram Air Base.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In these meetings, Pakistani and Iranian representatives emphasized the fight against terrorism and regional cooperation, warning that Afghan soil has continued to become a haven for foreign terrorist groups.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Security experts have stated that the Taliban, by directly or indirectly supporting groups such as ISIS-Khorasan and other foreign terrorists, threaten the stability of Afghanistan and the security of neighboring countries.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pakistan\u2019s special representative for Afghanistan, Mohammad Sadiq, called the widespread presence of these groups in Afghanistan an \u201curgent threat\u201d and called for collective regional action to counter it.<\/strong><\/p>\n
