Nizamuddin Qaisari, a prominent political figure in northern Afghanistan, has officially announced himself as the General Secretary of the National Islamic Movement of Afghanistan (Junbish Party).<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a video statement, he said the decision was made with the support of a number of party members and supporters, and that the aim was to \u201crevive the political role of the movement.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

This move comes as no official response has yet been issued by Marshal Abdul Rashid Dostum\u2019s close associates or the party\u2019s central office.
