The Taliban\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi held a phone conversation with Tajikistan\u2019s Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin following two deadly attacks in recent days that killed Chinese nationals in the border region.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the past week, five Chinese citizens were killed in two separate attacks reportedly originating from Afghan territory along the Afghanistan\u2013Tajikistan border. During the call, Muttaqi condemned the attacks and stressed the importance of joint cooperation to ensure regional stability. He added that the Taliban are \u201cfully prepared\u201d to strengthen border security, conduct joint investigations, and enhance security coordination, describing action against \u201cmalicious elements\u201d as an urgent necessity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Muttaqi also said that \u201ccertain groups\u201d are attempting to undermine the positive trajectory of relations between the two countries, without naming them.
