Taliban Remove Afghanistan\u2019s Consul in Khorugh, Tajikistan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Informed sources in Tajikistan report that the Taliban have dismissed Afghanistan\u2019s consul in Khorugh, who had been cooperating with the group.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to these sources, Naqibullah Dehqanizada, a diplomat from the former Afghan government who continued to engage with the Taliban after the change of power, has officially been removed from his post.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Based on available information, the Taliban\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs ended Dehqanizada\u2019s assignment on 15 December 2025 and simultaneously suspended the activities of the Afghan consulate in Khorugh. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Sources also claim that Dehqanizada transferred approximately USD 120,000 to the Taliban\u2019s foreign ministry, though details of this matter have not been officially disclosed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sources say the decision was made while Dehqanizada was seeking Taliban support to be appointed as Afghanistan\u2019s ambassador to Tajikistan in place of Zahir Aghbar.<\/strong><\/p>\n
