Habib Najafi Zada, an environmental activist and forestation advocate from Daykundi Province, was released after three days of detention by the Intelligence Directorate of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Najafi Zada resumed his tree-planting activities in the hills of Qala-e-Hashmat, District 8, Kabul.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He has never been politically active and emphasized that environmental work must remain entirely separate from politics.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He noted that temporary detentions have never hindered his commitment to nature conservation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a statement about his detentions, Najafi Zada explained that his first detention occurred in Daykundi and the second in Kabul after returning from Kenya.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He expressed hope that this issue would be resolved permanently, noting the distress such detentions cause to his family and friends.<\/strong><\/p>\n
