Mohammad Zahir Aghbar, Afghanistan\u2019s Ambassador to Tajikistan, has responded to recent remarks by Dr. Anwar-ul-Haq Ahadi, former Minister of Finance and former leader of the Afghan Millat Party, describing those statements as detached from Afghanistan\u2019s complex political and social realities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Aghbar, Ahadi\u2019s media comments reflect political frustration and intellectual isolation rather than evidence-based analysis or social legitimacy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He stressed that Dr. Ahadi lacks a clear popular base and effective party legitimacy, adding that it remains unclear on whose authority and on behalf of which political current or figure he speaks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ambassador noted that despite Ahadi\u2019s past leadership of Afghan Millat and his role in the former government, he no longer enjoys reliable support even within his own party, and that a significant portion of party members do not consider his views representative.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Aghbar warned that comparing the Taliban\u2019s ethnic-centered ideology with leaders of the former republic is a dangerous oversimplification that ignores fundamental differences in power structures, governance methods, levels of violence, and approaches to citizens\u2019 rights a comparison that risks normalizing extremist political narratives.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He also emphasized the need for clarity regarding the position of former President Hamid Karzai, stating that given Karzai\u2019s national and trans-ethnic standing, it must be clearly determined whether these remarks represent Ahadi\u2019s personal opinion or were expressed on Karzai\u2019s behalf.<\/strong><\/p>\n
