Following the killing of Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during joint United States and Israeli attacks, a number of prominent figures from Afghanistan\u2019s former government issued rare and explicit statements in response.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Abdul Rashid Dostum described the incident as a \u201cmartyrdom of oppression\u201d and characterized it as a major loss for the Islamic world and regional political dynamics. Referring to Khamenei\u2019s role over recent decades, he spoke of his influence in supporting the people of Afghanistan and strengthening Islamic solidarity.<\/strong><\/p>\n
