Controversial Taliban Claim: Weapons and Drone Production Facilities Established in Afghanistan.<\/strong><\/p>\n Taliban officials have claimed that the group has set up weapons and drone manufacturing facilities in Afghanistan and has also reactivated parts of its air-defence system.<\/strong><\/p>\n Ahmadullah Muttaqi, the Taliban\u2019s Head of Information and Culture in Herat, said in a published report that the Taliban Ministry of Defence has refurbished certain long-range defensive equipment and deployed it in various locations.<\/strong> The report states that the Taliban Ministry of Defence has established several technical and logistical centres to repair and supply military equipment.<\/strong><\/p>\n Based on the Taliban\u2019s claims, these centres are responsible for maintaining and rebuilding light and heavy weapons, armoured vehicles, and certain defence systems.<\/strong><\/p>\n It was also stated that several weapons and ammunition production facilities have been launched in different parts of Afghanistan in order to meet the group\u2019s military needs domestically.<\/strong><\/p>\n However, the report released by the Taliban has faced scepticism.
