The attackers reportedly forced him out of his vehicle, severely beat him with rifle butts, and cut off part of one of his ears before fleeing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>He was later transferred to Kabul for medical treatment.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Local sources suspect Taliban involvement, although the motive remains unclear.
