Taliban Commander Mahboobullah Hamid Reportedly Declares Opposition in Badakhshan.
Sources claim that Mawlavi Mahboobullah Hamid, a senior Tajik Taliban commander and deputy governor of the Taliban in Ghor Province, has openly turned against the Taliban leadership and taken up arms in Jurm District of Badakhshan.
According to the sources, Hamid left his official post about one month ago and has since been staying in his hometown of Jurm, where he has held meetings with local influential figures and his supporters.
The sources claim his opposition is linked to disagreements over Taliban leadership policies and the concentration of power within the group’s central leadership.
They further claim that Hamid is organizing forces loyal to him and encouraging local residents to resist Taliban decisions.
The Taliban has not officially commented on these allegations.
