Senior Taliban official in Kunduz marries married woman.
Local sources in Kunduz province say that a senior Taliban official in the province, abusing his position, forced a man to divorce his wife and then married the woman.
According to reliable sources, the incident took place in Dasht-e-Archi district and was perpetrated by Mufti Ehsanullah, the head of the Taliban military court in Kunduz. According to sources, the official had an imposed and illicit relationship with the woman in question before the marriage.
This action was taken while the Taliban always claim to implement Sharia law and fight against moral corruption, but repeated reports of forced marriages and sexual abuse by members of this group indicate a clear contradiction between their words and behavior.
This is not the first time that such reports have been published from different provinces of Afghanistan. Previously, cases of forced marriages, sexual harassment, and threats to women by Taliban figures had been reflected in the media.
