Taliban Leader’s Anger Over Controversial Meetings Between Karzai and Sirajuddin Haqqani.
Reports suggest that growing speculation about behind-the-scenes relations and interactions between Hamid Karzai and certain influential figures, including Sirajuddin Haqqani, has increased sensitivities at the level of Taliban leadership.
This meeting took place under circumstances in which Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Taliban leader, had previously shown strong reactions to Karzai’s meetings with various figures.
It is said that these concerns have led to the imposition of restrictions on Karzai’s movements and meetings, and even warnings about the possibility of further measures, including house arrest or expulsion from the country, have been raised.
Meanwhile, the meeting between Hamid Karzai, former President of Afghanistan, and Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban’s Minister of Interior, has been accompanied by a wide wave of reactions on social media.
Taliban sources have stated that this meeting took place on the occasion of Eid and also to discuss “recent events.”
The meeting has been welcomed by Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat, Chief of Staff of the Taliban army, as well as a number of media activists and individuals close to the Haqqani network.
In contrast, a number of journalists and civil society activists have expressed critical reactions.
Lina Rozbeh, a journalist, referring to the possibility of hidden political interactions between certain figures and the Taliban, described this process as lacking any real impact on improving the country’s situation.
Zahra Joya also emphasized that in such interactions, ordinary citizens bear the greatest cost.
At the same time, Nilofar Moradi, a women’s rights activist, criticized the meeting and described it as a sign of alignment and growing closeness among certain actors.
Experts say that the overall reactions and the background of tensions have turned the recent meeting into a sensitive issue within the framework of internal Taliban disputes.
