Revelation of Epstein’s confidential documents; Karzai the most fraudulent individual in the elections.
Newly released documents from the Epstein archive reveal one of the biggest electoral scandals in Afghanistan’s history and show that during Hamid Karzai’s government, elections were not a democratic process but a scene of widespread fraud and systematic corruption.
The extent of fraud in the 2009 elections was such that one-quarter of Karzai’s votes were completely illegal.
Based on these documents, internal reports by American officials and international institutions explicitly speak of vote-buying, result engineering, direct interference in the electoral process, and the decisive role of money and political influence.
The documents state that the 2009 presidential election was accompanied by a wave of organized violations; from phantom voting and ballot box stuffing to result manipulation and voter intimidation.
Reports emphasize that these violations were not scattered or isolated, but were carried out in a coordinated and widespread manner, effectively calling the credibility of the entire electoral process into question.
Based on a report by a UN-affiliated commission cited in these documents, Hamid Karzai obtained about one million illegal votes;
A number equivalent to nearly one-quarter of all votes. The documents also show that the then-US government, fully aware of the scale of fraud and corruption, supported declaring Karzai the winner to prevent political collapse;
A decision that, according to observers, confronted Afghanistan’s nascent democracy with a legitimacy crisis from the very beginning.
