Allegation of Illicit Relationship; Taliban Local Official Released Without Judicial Proceedings in Badakhshan.

Local sources in Kashm district of Badakhshan province have reported that Sayed Enamullah Rezwan, the Taliban’s Director of Agriculture in the district, was detained during the month of Ramadan on allegations of having an illicit relationship.

According to the sources, the individual was identified near the Kashm farm in the Lalami area together with a woman introduced under the pseudonym “Maryam,” who is said to be a volunteer worker at Kashm hospital. Both were subsequently handed over to the local police command by residents.

However, the sources add that despite the detention, no formal interrogation process was carried out by Taliban police officials, and the local official was soon released.

It is reported that the release took place under the instruction of certain local security authorities, including deputies of the Kashm police command, resulting in both parties being freed without judicial follow-up.

According to the sources, some local Taliban figures also played a role in supporting the individual, and proposals were even made to resolve the matter through marriage.

Additionally, a source from Kashm hospital confirmed that this Taliban official had previously been seen multiple times at the facility with the same woman; however, due to the prevailing environment, no one had dared to raise objections.
