Another woman is a victim of domestic violence in Nangarhar.
Security sources in Nangarhar province say that a female doctor named “Ziba” was murdered in Jalalabad city, the provincial capital, and investigations show that her husband was involved in the murder.
Sayed Tayyeb Hammad, spokesman for the Taliban security command in Nangarhar, announced on Monday (August 4) that the woman’s husband and another person have been arrested on charges of involvement in the murder.
According to him, the victim’s husband had paid an individual $3,000 and 100,000 Afghanis to kill his wife.
The female doctor, who worked in the obstetrics and gynecology department of a local hospital, was attacked by armed men yesterday while waiting for a transport vehicle in the “Alfat Mina” area of the seventh district of Jalalabad city and died.
The Taliban security command confirmed the incident and announced that the perpetrators of the murder had fled the scene after committing the crime, but security forces arrested them in the seventh district of the city.
According to reports, the woman had a family dispute with her husband before the murder and had requested a divorce. Domestic violence is considered one of the main reasons for the murder of women in Afghanistan.
After nearly four years of Taliban rule, the cases of murder of women in various provinces have increased, especially in connection with family disputes and social pressures.
