Helmand – Local sources in Helmand province reported a clash between Taliban forces and Pakistani border guards in the border district of Bahramcheh.
According to the sources, the exchange of fire between the two sides began around 9 am today and continued for some time. According to local witnesses, the clashes began when Pakistani forces opened fire on a convoy carrying two Taliban containers that were moving towards a newly established checkpoint.
No exact details of the casualties or possible damage have been released, and official sources on both sides have not commented.
Bahramcheh district is one of the sensitive border areas between Afghanistan and Pakistan, which has witnessed similar clashes between forces stationed on both sides of the border in the past.
