Malik Tatar: Taliban Forced 500 Families Out of Their Homes in Takhar.

Malik Ahmad Tatar, a local anti-Taliban commander in Takhar, claims in an audio recording obtained by the media that the Taliban forcibly evicted around 500 homes belonging to Tajik and Uzbek families in the Khwaja Bahauddin district.

He states that his own house was destroyed, his belongings looted, and his lands confiscated by the Taliban.

According to Tatar, individuals affiliated with the Taliban carried out unlawful and coercive actions during the forced displacement, and residents who resisted were subjected to threats and harsh treatment.

He also alleges that about 7,000 jiribs of land belonging to Tajik and Uzbek families were seized by “settlers” with Taliban support and redistributed across areas stretching from Yateem Tepa in Darqad to Ai Khanum in Dasht-e-Qala.

Tatar argued that the current situation has taken on an ethnic and linguistic dimension and believes that, in his view, armed resistance is the only effective response. He called on the public and anti-Taliban groups to increase coordination to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
