Pakistani Presidential Spokesperson Calls Taliban “Brainless Animals”

Murtaza Solangi, spokesperson for Pakistan’s president, reacted to a recent Taliban action in Uruzgan—reportedly involving the exhumation of a former soldier’s body—by calling the group “brainless animals.”

By resharing the report, Solangi stressed that such violent actions not only threaten the security of the Afghan people but also violate the sanctity of the deceased.

Observers note that despite years of historical support from Islamabad for the Taliban, relations between the two sides are currently in deep crisis. Pakistan accuses the Taliban of disregarding shared border concerns and allowing Pakistani militants to operate from Afghan territory. It also argues that the Taliban have failed to guarantee that extremist groups will not conduct operations against Pakistan from within Afghanistan.

These tensions have repeatedly led to clashes and severe confrontations along border areas, resulting in casualties on both sides. Diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions have so far proven ineffective.

Over recent months, Taliban representatives and Pakistani officials have held several rounds of talks in regional countries including Qatar, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Iran, yet no lasting or constructive agreement has been reached, and violence and mistrust persist. Pakistani officials have repeatedly warned that the fragile relationship poses a threat to regional security and reflects the Taliban’s failure to control domestic and cross-border militant groups.
