Taliban Dissident Commander Criticizes Ethnic Bias and Systematic Repression.

Hamid Khorasani, a dissenting commander within the Taliban, has strongly criticized the group for ethnic discrimination, systematic bias, and the marginalization of other ethnic communities, warning that such practices are “not only un-Islamic, but also dangerous for religion and society.”

His remarks were made in response to the arrest of his personal guards by the Taliban.

Khorasani wrote that he had spent years fighting oppression, injustice, and discrimination in order to secure the fundamental rights of Muslims, but claimed that “organized circles driven by ethnic and racial ideologies” within the Taliban are deliberately working to suppress and eliminate others.

According to Khorasani, these factions even dehumanize their former comrades solely because of differences in ethnicity and language.

He stated that he and his forces joined the Taliban at the invitation of its leadership to help establish an Islamic and justice-based system, not to seek power or personal gain.

He warned that what is happening today amounts to the “imposition of ignorance in the name of religion,” undermining the credibility of Islam and potentially leading to widespread unrest and instability that alienates people from both religion and religious governance.
